Fruit and Vegetable Blend JuicesOne way to get more servings of vegetables into your kids diet is to give them fruit and vegetable blend juices like Juicy Juice Harvest Sunrise and V8 V-Fusion.

Over at Consumer Reports, they had 35 children taste test Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise Grape and Tropical flavors, plus V8 V-Fusion Pomegranate Blueberry and Tropical Orange. The kid testers rated the juices' flavor and texture from excellent to horrible.

Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise Grape and V8 V-Fusion Pomegranate Blueberry consistently rated highest. 80% of the children said they would drink Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise Grape again, while 66% would drink V8 V-Fusion Pomegranate Blueberry again. Juicy Juice Harvest Surprise Tropical was the least favorite.

The V8 juices have more vegetables per serving than the Juicy Juices (1 serving compared to 2/3) and a greater variety of vegetables used in the juice. And of course, these juices are not replacements for whole produce.

The American Academy of Pediatrics recommends limiting 100 percent fruit juice (pasteurized, with no added sugar or corn syrup) to no more than 4 to 6 ounces a day for children 1 to 6 years old, and 8 to 12 ounces a day for children 7 to 18 years old.
